GS Repair

Our bespoke repair service

A BESPOKE INVISIBLE KNITWEAR REPAIR SERVICE FOR YOUR GS SWEATERS & CARDIGANS

The concept of slow fashion has sat at the heart of the GS brand since we were first established in 2015, and is woven into every piece of knitwear we create. From Genevieve’s timeless designs to the sustainably sourced materials and artisanal craftsmanship carried out here in the UK, we’re committed to providing our customers with uniquely crafted garments that epitomise luxury British-made knitwear, and to help them keep everything they purchase as perfect as the day they bought it.

Uniquely crafted garments that epitomise luxury British-made knitwear

We choose to create our knitwear using only the best yarns because we know that when it comes to investing in lasting quality, natural fibres like wool and cashmere promise the best return. However, we also understand that no matter how much you love and look after your pieces, life can sometimes be full of mishaps. From catching your sleeve on a handle to a furry friend taking a liking to your favourite piece, holes and tears do occasionally appear.

Our loyal customers are the heart of our brand and we want you to be able to enjoy your products for as long as you want to, so we offer a very bespoke knitwear repair service that helps you prolong the life of your GS products. This unique and personal service focuses on reviving and refreshing knitwear so that you can continue to enjoy the designs and celebrate the beauty of the yarn for years to come.

HOW THE SERVICE WORKS

Being both committed to and proud of her work, Genevieve will personally mend and repair your GS knitwear by hand. Not only will she use her expert knowledge of the designs, but her unique yarn collection also ensures the best colour match possible, so you won’t be able to tell it was ever damaged.

Genevieve uses the Swiss darning technique, which intricately follows the damaged yarn row by row. By stitching on top of the yarn, she can replicate the original form in a highly subtle – or even invisible – way.

For carrying out an invisible mend on a small hole or tear, our prices start from just £25.

For a full knitwear refresh (darning a small hole or tear, then de-bobbling and steaming the item), our prices start from £50.

For anything larger or more complicated, please contact us at ‘me@genevievesweeney.com’ and we’ll be happy to discuss the options available. Please note that we cannot repair items from other makers or brands and cannot accept moth-eaten pieces due to the risk of contamination and damage to our yarn stocks.
