A deep intricate marl custom-spun by Genevieve in rich hues of electric blue melange, burgundy and charcoal melange. A super-fine lambswool spun in Scotland is plied up to give a luxuriously soft handle, durability and irresistible comfort.

This lambswool yarn has RWS (Responsible Wool Standards) certification, meaning that both the sheep that produce it and the land on which they graze are actively protected. Our yarn mill only sources from farms that can demonstrate respectful animal welfare, so every sheep leads a healthy life with essential freedoms.

Here at GS, we see buttons as an integral part of any cardigan. Ours are made from sustainable Codelite and custom-dyed to a deep burgundy accent by Courtney & Co. – the last button maker in the UK.

The buttons are made from Codelite – a completely natural and biodegradable product created by curing and hardening the naturally occurring proteins found in milk. Codelite first became a staple of button manufacturing in the early twentieth century, and by reviving it Courtney & Co. committed to reducing the amount of plastic within the industry.

The unique button colours are created with eco-friendly dyes that are Oeko-tex standard 100 and AZO-free certified.

The Alva cardigan in rich indigo marl is a timeless staple that anchors your capsule wardrobe season after season.
