Made from soft, organic cotton, these socks are custom-spun by Genevieve herself to create a selection of totally unique colour blends – in this case rose pink, burgundy and green. These beautiful marls are then twinned with a contrasting heel, toe and cuff in a denim blue technique sole.

The technical yarn is made from specifically engineered polyester fibres from with an increased surface area. This special four-channel fibre forms a transport system that pulls moisture away from the skin to the outer layer of the fabric. It then dries that moisture faster than any fabric and thermoregulates the body.

To create the GS walking sock, Genevieve approached a family-run mill based in Derbyshire, and after spotting the unusable end-of-line yarns, decided to rescue them from being thrown away. Many of the yarns were small batches of discontinued colours, so Genevieve let her creativity run wild, twisting them together and producing completely unique blends from the otherwise wasted products. Twisting the yarns together can take hours and is something most factories wouldn’t have time for; but for Genevieve, it’s all about embracing the joy of slow manufacturing – and in doing so creating something truly original and beautiful.
