Finer and more expensive, it produces a garment of exceptionally high quality without compromising on its authentic Shetland character.

Once knitted, it’s then brushed using the teasel thistle – a rarely-used specialist technique that further enhances the sumptuously soft hand-feel. Completely natural and highly effective, the teasel thistle has for centuries been used to brush and soften yarn. By elongating the fibres, it not only creates a beautifully soft feel, but lends the wool a relaxed and subtly felted quality that no man-made brush could match.
