Our bestselling Maddis Cardigan is back. A Genevieve Sweeney classic, the Maddis is a British-made women’s cardigan knitted from luxurious Italian lambswool and cashmere tweed. Its jet black melange base is scattered with vibrant pink flecks, creating a rich, distinctive finish that transitions effortlessly from day to evening.
The bright pink tweeds are spun randomly throughout the yarn, so their placement varies naturally. This means no two Maddis cardigans are exactly alike; each one has its own unique combination of colour and character.
Designed with a relaxed silhouette, the Maddis is easy to layer over dresses and skirts or style with denim and tailored trousers. For its return, we have thoughtfully refined the original design with a knitted front placket and integrated buttonholes. Fully fashioned rib detailing creates a beautifully considered finish, and our skilled team traditionally hand-links every cardigan at the Genevieve Sweeney micro-factory in Hertfordshire.
The Maddis is completed with British-made corozo buttons from Courtney & Co., the last remaining button manufacturer in the UK. Made from natural, biodegradable tagua palm nuts, the buttons are custom-dyed in a complementary soft grey using eco-friendly dyes.

How to Care
Hand wash or dry clean only.
Thanks to the natural properties of wool and alpaca, your knit rarely needs frequent washing. These fibres are naturally breathable and odour-resistant, meaning a little care goes a long way.
Allow your sweater to rest between wears, air it in fresh air or sunshine, and spot clean when needed. When washing is required, gently hand wash in cool water using a wool detergent, reshape while damp and dry flat.
With thoughtful care, your knit will remain beautifully soft and wearable for years to come.

A personal touch, hand-finished in our British studio. Choose up to three characters to be hand-embroidered in a complimentary contrast colour, thoughtfully selected by Genevieve. You can also choose a hand-embroidered heart in either red or pink using the dropdown options.
